Information on library membership fees (click here)

Don't forget to renew if your library membership is due for renewal. No deposit is now required.
Free membership for students of Nancy-Université (including the University of Metz).
Free six-months' membership (renewable) for the unemployed.
Free membership for paid-up members of the ABAN. ABAN membership is 10€ per year for adults and 4€ per year for those under 18 years of age and for students who wish to join the conversation groups. This special rate does not allow use of the other Nancy-Université libraries, except for students.
Students registered in a French university outside of Lorraine, except for ABAN members: 29€ a year.
All other types of membership: 40€ a year. This rate permits access to all of the university libraries.
It is possible for secondary-school teachers of English to ask their educational establishment to sign a convention with the Université de Nancy 2 which provides membership for all of the pupils in a class and access to all the other university libraries. If only a few pupils are interested, we recommend that they join the ABAN at 4€ a year in order to obtain a free membership.

We still need willing hands to get the backlog of books registered, covered, identified and on the shelves, even though the backlog is being slowly reduced. Ruth Etienne is the coordinator of the volunteer program. We also encourage our English-speaking members to participate in the conversation groups whenever they are in the Library. Please drop by.
At the May 2011 meeting of the Board, the possibility of starting a book club and a cineclub was discussed. The members were consulted to see whether there were enough interested parties to warrant the organization of a book club and there were enough favorable responses for a trial group start-up. See the top of this page for the list of dates when the club will meet. Members will be consulted later on for the cineclub.
