The Commonwealth Parliament

The Commonwealth Parliament’s website (http://www.aph.gov.au) includes details about all Members of Parliament and senators as well as up-to-date information about what Parliament is doing.

http://www.aph.gov.au/hansard provides access to the Senate Hansard, the House of Representatives Hansard, and to the transcripts of the proceedings of all Senate, House of Representatives and Joint Committees. 

• The Leader of the Opposition’s website (http://www.aph.gov.au/house/oppn/index.htm sets out biographical details about the Leader of the Opposition as well as policies, speeches, and links to his party’s sites.

The republican debate and other constitutional issues

• The Samuel Griffith Society has published all the papers on constitutional issues presented at its annual conference since 1992. They can be consulted at http://www.samuelgriffith.org.au

• "The Australian Republic issue: a Guide" : http://www.edfac.usyd.edu.au/staff/souters/republic.html, continually updated, is probably the best source of information on the republican debate. 

• The Constitutional Centenary Foundation’s website (http://www.centenary.org.au) provides details about the February 1998 Constitutional Convention, the republican issue, the November 1999 referendum as well as very interesting fact sheets about Australia.

Its excellent website (http://www.aec.gov.au) provides invaluable information on all aspects of federal elections (history, voting systems, results, etc.)

Each state and territory has its own electoral commission.
