I-B) Bookstores in Great Britain and the United States Barnes and Noble: see the Virtual
Bookstores page. Borders: see the Virtual Bookstores
page. John T. Zubal, Inc. (Scholarly and Out of Print Books):
this bookshop does not sell new books and is not a search service. It
is particularly good at locating old (before 1960) and very old books,
particularly those intended for research; it specializes in the social
sciences, history, philosopy, anthropology and archaeology, art, theology
and religion, as well as literary criticism and biography. It has almost
5,000,000 books in stock and a database of its stock is available on
the web at http://www.zubal.com.
Inquiries can be made by e-mail. If you prefer to telephone, the library
is open weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (don't forget to take into
account the central time zone). Mailing address: Leaves of Grass Rare Books: this library is resolutely traditional (no website, no e-mail). Not a search service, it sells from stock, is accustomed to selling by mail and accepts international money orders (or at least they did at the time of our last contact). They stock about 20,000 books and specialize in literature, in what the owner calls "books on books" (literary criticism) and in Americana. Write directly to the owner, Tom Nicely, and he will tell you whether the book you want is in stock.
