Bureau of the Census: the Bureau, an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, is the main source of statistics on the population and the economy, based on the decennial censuses and on smaller samplings of the population made between censuses. The Bureau publishes a selection of this information yearly in the Statistical Abstract as well as in the periodical Current Population Reports. A wider selection of statistics is available on the annual CD-ROM of the Statistical Abstract. There is also a CD-ROM of historical statistics (1790 to 1970) available through bookstores.

Federal Government Statistics Briefing Room: a website maintained by the White House which supplies basic statistical information on Crime, Demography, Education, Health, etc. It also provides links towards appropriate tables on the Census Bureau website and allows you to find them faster:  http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/fsbr.html

Migration News is a publication of the University of California at Davis available on paper and via the internet. It supplies original articles as well as digests of articles published elsewhere on the subject of immigration. Although the main thrust is North America, it also deals with immigration within and to Europe, Asia and South America. Immigration to all of the other English-speaking countries is dealt with, although not necessarily in every issue: http://migration.ucdavis.edu/
