This is a fee-paying library. Consult the library site
for the cost of one-day (no borrowing privileges), four-month, six-month
and one-year use for students, other individuals and families. Fees
are quite high, but now that the British Council Library has been dismantled
and the documentation center at the American consulate (rue Saint-Florentin)
no longer accepts readers, there are few other alternatives for those
who are not students at a university.
The American Libraries in Angers, Montpellier, and Nancy
no longer have any connection with the Paris library.

The
library no longer exists and has been replaced by an Information Service
offering newspapers, magazines and journals. We have been able to discover
that its collection of books has been given to the Bibliothèque
Clignancourt (address: 113 rue Championnet, 75018 Paris, metro: Porte
de Clignancourt). There, they can be consulted by students (any level)
and by subscribing members of the British Council (France).
The Information Service is on the ground floor of the British Council
and is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M.

The Newspaper Library is located in Colindale Avenue in north
west London (NW9) (Located almost opposite Colindale Underground Station,
zone 4 on the Edgware branch of the Northern Line.)
The library's northern site, which is also its Document Supply
Centre, is situated close to the village of Boston Spa, near Wetherby,
in West Yorkshire. It can be reached by taxi from the railway stations
at York and Leeds (30 minutes distant) or by car from the A1 (Walton
exit).
